Preparing Your Image for Print

  • Adjust the size of your image(s) to be the dimensions you wish to print. If you would like to order a 16x20 then resize your image to be 16x20 at 300 ppi.

If your desired print size isn’t listed in the print size order dropdown just select dimensions which are closest to your desired size. Double check that both the width and height will fit within the print.

  • We recommend adjusting your image, as mentioned above, to a resolution of 300 ppi. A minimum resolution of 240 ppi is needed to prevent any pixelation appearing in the final print. So, if you’re ordering a 16x9 print make sure the image is sized to 16x9 at 300 ppi.

  • It’s usually always best to start with a larger colorspace in post-production and then shrink it down to whatever is required for the final output. When ordering prints we recommend using Adobe RGB (1998). We’re happy to accept images with any color profile but as we convert there may be some color shifts. This is another reason why we highly recommend ordering a test print prior to the final print.

  • There are a variety of file types available for digital imagery. We recommend using tiff, jpeg and even psd for your print orders.

  • Image aspect ratio refers to the width and height of an image. If an image is sized to 8x10 then it has an image aspect ratio of 4:5. Just like when you learned fractions in school the width x height measurements are reduced to their lowest divisible number. 8x10 / 2 = 4x5 or 4:5.

We accept any image aspect ratio. If you can’t find your desired aspect ratio (size) listed in the print size drop down, just select a print size closest in dimension to the longest edge and double check that the shorter edge will contain within the print.
